Blogged under Uncategorized by accord on Friday 18 July 2008 at 9:53 pm

Most of us hate frequent visits to dentists. To avoid this, one must take proper dental care. Proper dental care keeps one healthy and instills confidence in them. Having clean and healthy teeth will keep us away from the dentist for a longer period. However, this doesn’t mean that by taking proper dental care you can avoid a dentist. It is good for us to visit a dentist, once in a while, for a general checkup.

Dental problems such as cavities, gum diseases, dental plaque are caused due to improper dental care. Cavities are seen in children consuming a great number of chocolates and sweets whereas the reasons in adults are different. Gum diseases such as Gingivitis and Periodontitis results in tooth decay and leads to cavities in children and dentures in adults. Considerable amount of money is spent on the treatment in majority of the dental care issues.

Instead of spending the hard earned money towards dental care, people opt for dental insurance. But, dental insurance has its limits such as limited coverage, long waiting periods, etc. which would be annoying at times. People opting for dental insurance are also less because of the high premiums that are unaffordable.

A good alternative for dental insurance policies are dental discount plans that come at affordable prices and are accessible to everyone. These dental discount plans also offer multiple dental care benefits. Dental discount plans, such as Ameriplan, covers all essential services and provides good service to the people. Dental discount plans not only provide discounts for the dental care but also provide discounts on vision, chiropractic and prescription care. How To Benefit From Gasoline Credit Cards!

Blogged under Uncategorized by accord on Thursday 17 July 2008 at 1:23 am

With the high price of fuel these days it is rare to find a gasoline company that will give you a break on the price of gasoline, but with a gasoline credit card you may be able to ease some of the expense while monitoring your gasoline spending habits.

There are two basic types of gasoline credit cards. The first is a gas company card offered to customers through certain gas companies. This kind of card is beneficial to the person who is trying to control his or her gasoline budget. It functions similarly to a credit card with monthly fees and interest. Most gasoline credit cards require you to pay the balance in full at the end of each month. Although this kind of card limits you to purchasing gas or in-store items from the station where the card was purchased, it can be helpful if you are trying to control gasoline expenditures. A gasoline credit card is also generally easier to purchase than a traditional credit card.

The second gasoline card is the gas reward card that offers incentives through credit card companies. Some credit card companies have started rewards programs with incentives that offer free gas rewards. Similar to frequent flyer miles, gasoline credit card holders can earn points every time a purchase is made. These points add up over time and can be converted into free gas.

Purchasing a gasoline credit card may also be beneficial if you maintain a good credit history. Gas companies will fight to keep you as a loyal customer and lower your interest rates if you continue to use their brand. Many gas credit cards can initially be purchased at a zero interest introductory rate. This rate will last anywhere from six to twelve months. Be careful to read over the fees and agreements before choosing your card.

There are other incentives to owning a gas card including cash back bonuses of 1-2% at grocery stores or restaurants. Some gas credit cards offer free fraud protection services if your card is lost or stolen. A little bit of research can help you find the best card.

When deciding whether or not to get a gasoline credit card, think about the benefits of a company card or a rewards card. Both will help ease the stress of making an inevitable gasoline purchase. A gasoline credit card is best for the person who wishes to maintain a budget and control expenditures whereas the rewards cards can help you save money and get free gas.

Cancer of the Breast Facts and Figures

Blogged under Uncategorized by accord on Thursday 10 July 2008 at 6:43 am

Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer is one of those diseases that many have heard of and will commonly know at least one woman who has been affected. This Cancer can have a variety of symptoms and diagnosis, but the most common is finding a lump in the Breast or Breast area. At this stage it should be pointed out that ONLY a qualified medical expert can accurately diagnose if a lump is cancerous. You should consult as soon as practicable.

As stated previously though there are other signs such as:
Breast:
Change of size or shape Dimpling of the skin Lump or thickening Nipple:
Becomes inverted (turned in) Lump or thickening Bloodstained discharge (very rare)
you may also have a swelling in the armpit.

Most woman should examine their breasts regularly (similar to the advice given to men about their testicles) and the majority of tumours are found by the individual concerned. Another possibility is Mammography, which can detect changes in the breast tissue before they develop into a lump large enough to be felt with the fingers.

Treatment
The treatment of breast cancer depends on many factors, including:
The stage of the disease
Your age
Whether or not you have had the menopause
The size of the tumour
What the cancer cells look like under the microscope (the grade)
Whether they have receptors for certain hormones, or proteins such as HER2, on their surface.

It may seem crass (or insensitive) to suggest that in the earliest stages surgery may be “all” that is needed. Whilst clearly upsetting to the indivual, this may stop the cancer before it becomes more serious. However, surgery is often followed by radiotherapy to the remaining breast tissue to make sure that any remaining cancer cells are destroyed, particularly if only part of the breast has been removed.

An additional problem can occur where a tiny numbers of cancer cells have escaped and being present elsewhere in the body (these may be too small to be detected by scans). To combat this possibility your doctor will usually recommend some additional drug treatment (called adjuvant therapy). Adjuvant therapy may consist of hormonal therapy or chemotherapy drugs or both.

If the cancer has spread to other parts of the body it is usually treated with drugs (hormonal therapy, chemotherapy or monoclonal antibody therapy). Whether hormonal therapies or chemotherapy are used will depend on a number of factors such as:
which part of the body that the cancer has spread to how much time has passed since the original operation whether or not the cancer cells have receptors for particular hormones or proteins on their surface

All the information on this and all other pages on the site is simply that-information. The pages on this website were not designed to give any specific advice, diagnosis or prognosis regarding your personal circumstances. If you feel that you may be suffering or have any of the symptoms described on any of these pages then you should see a qualified medical Practitioner as soon as possible.

Tips on how to get the most off a budget car rental

Blogged under Uncategorized by accord on Monday 2 June 2008 at 9:44 pm

Budget car rentals are a traveler’s savior from being stranded in one place and from expensive taxi rides. But with today’s competitive market, I won’t be surprised that from trying to rent a car you end up renting a lawnmower instead. Well maybe not a lawnmower, but sometimes, well most of the time, the people that assist you in car rentals just doesn’t have your best interest in mind, so you end up paying a truckload of money for a pool of frustrations. To avoid this here are a few tips to get the budget, out of budget car rental.

1. If you’re not choosy with a budget car rental, try to get a budget car rental through sites that let you rent cars at your own price. These firms will try to get the best deal for the car that you’ll get and might just toss in unlimited mileage and upgrades, all of that without spending an extra dime out of budget.

2. Look for package deals, fly-drive-stay, or fly- drive, most of these packages give great discounts for rentals, but don’t do it with an airline, airlines although convenient aren’t really the more economic way to go, their budget car rental prices are hardly budget, and tend to be higher than those of outside firms.

3. Use the internet to reserve a rental car. Ah, the internet, what other good can it provide? Yes there are budget car rentals on the internet that can give you a better bargain. Some budget car rental sites even go as far as internet only discounts. Aside from that you can easily get upgrades and depending on the season, at least one rental company is bound to have a special offer that can help you save money, plus, you can rent a car in the comfort of your own home, beat that!

4. Ask for discounts that can be applicable to you, remember even when you’ve scored the best deal, there is still that one last ditch of a possibility that one of your credit cards support the company and provide discounts or that your frequent flyer program or military service can put that budget in budget car rental, its along shot but its worth a try.

5. Most budget car rentals are low on maintenance so when you rent a car, check all sides for damage, and I mean every side and every nook and cranny of that car, make sure to inform the renter of these so that you wont have to pay for damages once you return the car. In addition, try to check out all the accessories, wipers, radio, brakes, seatbelts etc, to familiarize yourself with them, and also to check if they work, like the previous tip, you might be charged for this if you don’t inform them.

6. Now we pass the subject of insurance, sometimes your own car insurance covers car rentals, so have a look see before you buy insurance from the rental firm. Budget car rental insurance doesn’t cost much, but if you already have one why buy another? Car rental insurance is always required when you rent a car.

7. Another money saving tip is to pick up your car early in the morning, make it so that the firm is just opening, this is because at this time most of the budget car rentals haven’t been returned yet, and you may get an upgrade for a lower price.

The PC Repair Toolkit in your Pocket: Boot CD on a USB Stick

Blogged under Uncategorized by accord on Thursday 15 May 2008 at 9:05 pm

Several times I’ve been called upon at a moment’s notice to troubleshoot a misbehaving PC system either at work or at a friend’s or relative’s home. Being the “go to” guy for these sorts of problems is both a curse and a blessing, but I guess that is besides the point.

Great tool…provided that BIOS has the support to boot from USB…. and unfortunately when I am called to fix computers of my relatives/friends or when they just flag an issue on a dinner table with casual “can you look my computer after this, something is wrong with it” .revealing their true intentions for their “we would like you to come” dinner invitation….. they are usually the systems at least 2-3 years old, some even older with no USB booting option(s). which means that I have to come again…and..nah, screw it - long story.

great tool anyway..
